With the Magic getting Wendell Carter and Franz Wagner back in action, this is an expected move for Penda. Over his last three outings, the rookie averaged 32.9 minutes per contest with 9.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.7 three-pointers, but he shot 34.6 percent from the field.

Penda closed with five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 30 minutes during Friday's 103-91 loss to Philadelphia.
Analisi
The rookie forward was making his first career NBA start in a depleted Magic frontcourt, but Penda didn't take full advantage of the opportunity. The 2025 second-round pick has seen a big spike in his court time in January with both Franz Wagner (ankle) and Moritz Wagner (knee) sidelined and even Tristan da Silva (back) unavailable Friday, and over the last three games Penda is averaging 9.3 points, 7.3 boards, 2.0 steals, 1.7 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.3 threes in 29.3 minutes.

The rookie second-rounder is getting the opportunity to fill the vacant spot opened up by the injured Tristan da Silva (back). Friday is set to be the first career start for Penda, who has averaged 5.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 16.9 minutes per tilt over his last 10 games.
