Ball got the night off Thursday during the second end of a back-to-back set -- a regular occurrence for the 28-year-old guard -- but he'll be back for Saturday's contest. With Darius Garland (toe) and Jaylon Tyson (concussion) sidelined, Ball should see a larger role against Memphis.

Tyrese Proctor and Craig Porter could pick up some run in Ball's absence Thursday.

Analisi
Ball got the start due to the absences of Darius Garland (toe) and Donovan Mitchell (rest), and he delivered a well-rounded performance while ending just two assists away from a double-double. Ball should return to the bench if Mitchell moves back into the lineup Thursday against the Raptors in the second leg of this back-to-back set, but the former might still have some upside as long as his minutes continue to hover around the 20-25 range.

With both Darius Garland (toe) and Donovan Mitchell (rest) unavailable for Wednesday's game, Ball will draw the start, and he'll be joined by Sam Merrill, Dean Wade, De'Andre Hunter and Jarrett Allen in the first unit. Ball has struggled to make an impact this season, so it'll be interesting to see what he can do in a starting role with little depth behind him.

Analisi
Ball saw a season-low in minutes despite the game going to overtime and Darius Garland exiting early after aggravating his toe injury, so it doesn't look like the former's role will change much with Garland going down again. Ball has been disappointing this season, averaging 5.1 points and 5.1 assists in 23.4 minutes per game, which has him ranked well outside the top 200 in fantasy leagues.
