Analyse
Bogaerts walked and stole second base in the fourth inning before capping off his night with a ninth-inning homer. He snapped a 13-game homerless drought and has gone deep just twice in 27 games this month. However, since returning from the injured list in July, Bogaerts has gone 50-for-152 (.329) through 40 games. He owns a .268/.311/.372 slash line with seven homers and nine steals through 87 games.

Bogaerts is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analyse
Bogaerts had a day off in his second game back from the injured list back on July 13, but Thursday's contest will mark the first time he's been out of the lineup since then. Donovan Solano will enter the lineup in his place at designated hitter, with Jake Cronenworth covering second base and Luis Arraez manning third base.

Bogaerts' RBI came on a sacrifice fly in the fifth frame. The second baseman is batting a respectable .276 in August, but he has only one homer and a modest nine RBI through 23 games. The lack of power and run production has been a season-long issue for Bogaerts -- he has just six home runs and 29 RBI across 83 contests overall.
