Activated from injured list
The Phillies activated Marchan (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Marchan has been shelved since late July with left knee patellar tendinitis, but he's been cleared to return after playing 12 rehab games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 27-year-old will operate as an extra catcher for the Phillies in the final month.

Marchan (knee) is expected to be activated from the injured list Sept. 1, per MLB.com.

Marchan, who's recovering from patellar tendinitis in left knee, is batting .206 with one RBI, five walks and three runs scored in 10 games (34 at-bats) on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
