Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

The left-handed-hitting Sanchez started in left field and went 0-for-2 in his return from the injured list in Friday's 3-1 win, but he'll end up sitting on the bench for the final two contests of the series while the Cardinals have sent lefty starters to the bump for both games. Reinstated from injured list
The Blue Jays reinstated Sanchez (ankle) from the injured list Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Sanchez has been out for over a month. The 28-year-old had been hitting the ball well before being sidelined, slashing .274/.316/.437 with seven homers and 29 RBI in 234 plate appearances this season. Toronto optioned Yohendrick Pinango to Triple-A Buffalo to make room for Sanchez on the active roster.

Tracking toward Friday return
Sanchez (ankle) is on track to return from the 10-day injured list Friday against the Cardinals, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Sanchez has played three rehab games thus far and will move his assignment up to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. He will play a couple more contests at the team's top minor-league affiliate before getting reinstated Friday if all goes well. Sanchez has been shelved since late June with a sprained right ankle. He should step back in as Toronto's primary left fielder upon his return.
