Knee scope on tap
Wagner will have his left knee scoped Thursday and is expected to be sidelined from baseball activities for about a month, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
The 26-year-old was placed on the 60-day injured list Tuesday due to knee inflammation, and he'll undergo the procedure to address the issue. Wagner should have enough recovery time to be healthy for the start of spring training. He played well in his first taste of the majors this year and had a .305/.337/.451 slash line with two homers and 11 RBI in 24 games.

Placed on 60-day IL
The Blue Jays placed Wagner on the 60-day injured list Tuesday due to left knee inflammation.
Analysis
Wagner's knee injury could help explain why he hasn't played in a game since Friday, and his move to the 60-day IL will officially put an early end to his season. The 26-year-old infielder will finish 2024 with a solid .305/.337/.451 slash line alongside two homers and 11 RBI through 24 games in the majors. In corresponding roster moves, Bo Bichette (calf) was activated from the 10-day IL, and Nick Robertson was claimed off waivers from the Angels (and optioned to Triple-A Buffalo) to fill the open 40-man spot.

Idle Saturday

Analysis
Wagner will take a day to regroup Saturday after going 1-for-9 with two walks over his last three games. While he sits, Davis Schneider will start at the keystone and bat ninth.
