Pops 14th home run in win

Tucker went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 10-7 win over the Mariners.

Analysis

Tucker was one of four Chicago players to go deep in the victory, including Ian Happ, who launched two home runs. Tucker now has 14 bombs for the season, though only two of them have come this month. The talented outfielder had five home runs in May and seven in March and April combined. While he's displaying a little less power in June so far, Tucker still has a strong .930 OPS in 17 games this month, as he's continuing to make consistent contact and has rattled off seven doubles. Overall, Tucker is sporting a robust .915 OPS this year, and the 28-year-old has chipped in 18 stolen bases to supplement his home runs and give him plenty of fantasy value.

Tallies three hits in win

Tucker went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Brewers.

Analysis

Tucker was not in the starting lineup Sunday as he rested a sprained right ring finger, and then the Cubs had an off day Monday. The extra time off seemed to help the talented outfielder, as he returned Tuesday with his seventh game this year with three or more hits. Tucker has been awesome in his first season in Chicago, as he's now batting .284 with a .909 OPS. He's also chipped in 13 home runs and 18 stolen bases, giving him a well-rounded fantasy stat line.

Finger still not 100 percent

Cubs manager Craig Counsell acknowledged Sunday that Tucker's sprained right ring finger still isn't 100 percent, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.

Analysis

Counsell noted that Tucker's finger injury is "not bad," but between rest Sunday and a team off day Monday, the skipper saw an opportunity to give Tucker "two days without swinging a bat." Tucker suffered the finger sprain back on June 1, and he's slashing a good-not-great .244/.380/.415 with only one home run in 13 games so far this month. The 28-year-old will be back in the lineup Tuesday as the Cubs host the Brewers.

Getting rare day off

Tucker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Analysis

In what appears to be a routine rest day, Tucker will head to the bench for just the third time all season and for the first time since he missed a pair of starts June 3 and 4 while tending to a jammed right ring finger. Since making his return, Tucker is batting just .237 with one home run and one stolen base in 10 games, though he's walked at a 15.6 percent clip. With Tucker taking a seat, Seiya Suzuki will start in right field, and Justin Turner will enter the lineup at designated hitter.
