Expected to start rehab assignment soon
Wrobleski (forearm) is expected to join Triple-A Oklahoma City to begin a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Analysis
Wrobleski had a throwing session Wednesday, and he appears to have avoided any setbacks in his recovery from left forearm inflammation. The southpaw was placed on the 15-day injured list with the injury Aug. 16, and it's possible that he will require only one outing with Oklahoma City before returning to the major-league roster. Wrobleski is eligible to be activated from the IL on Tuesday, and upon his activation, he's expected to operate out of the bullpen moving forward this season with Los Angeles.

Analysis
If Wrobleski checks out fine physically following Wednesday's throwing session, he could be cleared to head out on a brief minor-league rehab assignment as soon as this weekend. Though he earned an All-Star nod and went 11-5 with a 3.56 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while working out of the Los Angeles rotation before hitting the injured list Aug. 16 due to forearm inflammation, Wrobleski will be ticketed for a multi-inning relief role upon his return now that Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow have both returned from extended injury-related absences.

Set to move to bullpen
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Wrobleski (forearm) will serve as a multi-inning reliever once he returns from the injured list, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Wrobleski has enjoyed the best year of his career this season, logging a 3.56 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across 126.1 innings. Despite his strong numbers, the 26-year-old won't be able to hang on to his spot in the rotation once Tyler Glasnow (back) comes off the IL on Tuesday. Wrobleski will continue to contribute to the Dodgers as a lefty reliever capable of handling 2-to-3 innings, but he likely won't make another start this year unless the team opts for a six-man rotation down the stretch or another injury strikes one of Los Angeles' starters.
