Analysis

Moves to paternity list
The Diamondbacks placed Moreno on the paternity list Tuesday.
Analysis
The 26-year-old was scratched from the lineup Monday to attend the birth of his child, so this move to the paternity list was expected. Moreno can spend up to three days on the paternity list, so he should be back with the Diamondbacks by Friday's series opener versus the Dodgers.

Out Monday, set for paternity leave
Moreno was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Padres to attend the birth of his second child, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Analysis
James McCann will enter the lineup at catcher and as the Diamondbacks' No. 8 hitter in place of Moreno, who has been running hot at the plate since the All-Star break with a .286/.360/.444 batting line, two home runs, 15 RBI and 12 runs in 16 games. Moreno could go on the paternity list Tuesday, which would allow him to remain away from the team for between one and three days to spend time with his growing family.

Provides go-ahead run
Moreno went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Friday's 4-1 win over Cleveland.
Analysis
Moreno provided the second of three consecutive run-scoring singles in the top of the eighth inning, with his being the go-ahead knock. The catcher has RBI in eight of the last nine games, plating 13 runners while batting .343 during that stretch. He's been the team's most consistent hitter since returning from an oblique injury in early May. Since then, Moreno's posted a .313/.400/.462 slash line with 13 doubles, eight home runs, 41 RBI, four steals and 40 runs scored over 70 contests.
