Sitting again versus lefty
Gilbert is not in the lineup Thursday versus the Padres.
Analysis
The Padres are sending southpaw JP Sears to the mound Thursday, so the left-handed hitting Gilbert is taking a seat. It's the third consecutive game Gilbert is beginning the game from the bench. While he sits, Grant McCray is starting in center field and is batting eighth.

Taking seat against southpaw
Gilbert is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Analysis
The left-handed-hitting Gilbert was on the bench against a righty (Logan Henderson) for Tuesday's 8-2 loss and will remain out of the lineup again for the series finale while southpaw Thomas Pannone toes the rubber for Milwaukee. Grant McCray will get the start in center field for the second straight day, after he filled in as the starting right fielder in the prior two contests while Jung Hoo Lee managed an elbow injury.
