Analysis
Regardless of whether Whisenhunt needs Tommy John surgery or an internal brace procedure, either operation would likely keep him out for the entire 2027 season. He'll close the book on the 2026 campaign with a 6.49 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 26:21 K:BB across 34.2 innings (eight starts) in the majors.

He's coming off a rough showing against the Guardians on Tuesday, when he allowed a season-high seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and two walks over four frames.
