Nearing mound work
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Rodon (elbow) has had "a few good days of throwing" and could resume throwing off a mound at some point during the upcoming week, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis
Rodon rested Sunday, but the southpaw is expected to resume playing catch Monday and will do throwing of some kind just about every day during the All-Star break. He'll likely need to complete multiple bullpen sessions before he advances to facing hitters and then embarks on a rehab assignment, so Rodon still has a few hurdles to clear in his recovery from left elbow inflammation prior to returning from the 15-day injured list. Rodon is without a definitive target date for a return but appears unlikely to make it back from the shelf before the end of July.

Playing catch Thursday
Rodon (elbow) will play catch Thursday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
Analysis
It will be the first time Rodon has done any throwing since he landed on the 15-day injured list Friday with left elbow inflammation. The Yankees will ease Rodon back into a throwing progression and do not expect the southpaw back until at least early-to mid-August.

Likely out until mid-August
Rodon (elbow) is not expected to be ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation until around mid-August, Jon Heyman of The New York Post reports.
Analysis
Rodon landed on the 15-day injured list this past Friday with a left elbow injury. While the hurler's UCL is uncompromised, he is dealing with significant inflammation that's likely to keep him shelved for at least 4-to-6 weeks. The southpaw got a late start to the season while recovering from offseason elbow surgery, so the Yankees undoubtedly will tread lightly here. Rodon has turned in a 3.30 ERA and 52:26 K:BB over 46.1 innings covering nine starts for the Yankees this season.
