Solid outing in no-decision
Pallante came away with a no-decision in Thursday's win over the Pirates. He allowed one run in seven innings, giving up four hits and striking out five.
Analysis
Pallante gave up a solo home run to Bryan Reynolds in the fourth, which turned out to be his only hiccup on Thursday. For the third time in his career and the first this season, he goes at least seven innings in a start. He's been a dependable option for the Cardinals since being inserted into the rotation in May, pitching to a 3.34 ERA over seven starts. Outside of his starts vs. the Astros and Giants, in which he gave up a combined 11 earned runs, Pallante has only given up two earned runs in his other five starts this season.

Moves to 4-3
Pallante (4-3) allowed four hits and three walks over 5.1 shutout frames Friday, striking out five and earning a win over Cincinnati.
Analysis
Pallante worked around a few jams to keep the Reds off the board. The Cardinals would go on to win 1-0, so his scoreless performance was much-needed. Since moving into the starting rotation, Pallante has produced a 3.86 ERA with a 25:13 K:BB in six starts. His season ERA dropped to 4.50 through 38 innings. Pallante's next start is currently lined up to be in Pittsburgh.
