Roster spot shaky
Tawa started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and an RBI in Friday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Analisi
Tawa's run-scoring double in the eighth inning snapped an 0-for-16 skid and produced just his second RBI in 13 games. A season-opening slump (4-for-35, .114) has cost him playing time and makes Tawa a logical candidate to be removed from the roster if Lourdes Gurriel (knee) is activated as expected this weekend. Jorge Barrosa can cover left field while Gurriel adjusts to game action as a DH in the majors.

Moving into bench role
Tawa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Analisi
Tawa will take a seat for the second time in three games after he closed out last week with five consecutive starts in left field. While the Diamondbacks could still clear room in the lineup for him when the team faces left-handed pitching, Tawa hasn't helped his case for sticking around in an everyday role, slashing .094/.189/.125 across 38 plate appearances this season.

Nabbing fifth straight start
Tawa will start in left field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Analisi
The 27-year-old utility player will occupy left field for the fifth game in a row, but Arizona may not have room in its outfield for both Tawa and Jorge Barrosa once Corbin Carroll -- who is making a second straight start at designated hitter due to a minor hip issue -- is cleared to play defense. With a .393 OPS over 31 plate appearances on the season, Tawa hasn't done much to justify an everyday assignment in place of Jordan Lawlar (wrist), who will be on the shelf until at least early June. Top prospect Ryan Waldschmidt, who's off to a hot start at Triple-A Reno, could also get promoted soon, bumping both Tawa and Barrosa to the bench.
