Getting start against lefty

The left-handed hitting Gorman is making his second straight start at the keystone and his first start this season versus a left-handed pitcher in Framber Valdez. Reinstated from injured list
The Cardinals reinstated Gorman (hamstring) from the injured list Saturday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analisi
A strained right hamstring has kept Gorman out of action since the beginning of April. The Cardinals likely would have preferred to send the 24-year-old out on a rehab assignment before activating him, but Masyn Winn's (back) move to the IL on Saturday created an urgent need for infield depth on the big-league roster. Gorman's easiest path to playing time is likely at second base or designated hitter, though he isn't expected to have a regular role at either position.

The Cardinals will decide this weekend whether Gorman (hamstring) will go out on a rehab assignment before returning to the active roster, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Out since early April with a mild right hamstring strain, Gorman has been participating in batting practice and other baseball activities. It's not clear whether he has tested out the hamstring with running yet.
