The Rangers placed Helman (hand) on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

The 30-year-old was diagnosed with multiple fractures in his right hand after being hit by a pitch Saturday against the Red Sox, so the move to the IL is hardly a surprise. Helman started the contest in center field after Evan Carter landed on the injured list due to an oblique injury. Helman went 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly in his first three plate appearances before being struck by a pitch on the right hand in the top of the eighth inning.
