With the Red Sox sending southpaw Sean Newcomb to the mound for Wednesday's series finale, Misner will be on the bench to begin the game while Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Jose Caballero man the outfield. Misner has reached base safely in each of his last five games, going 7-for-17 with two walks, one stolen base, five runs scored, two home runs and four RBI over that span.

Misner went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 16-1 win over the Red Sox.

Misner powered the Rays' offense with his first career multi-homer game. The 27-year-old hit a 431-foot, two-run bomb in the second inning before returning in the eighth to add a 355-foot solo shot. Misner is currently in a strong-side platoon role but may garner additional playing time thanks to his scorching hot .400/.444/.775 slash line across 45 plate appearances.

Analisi
Misner remains in a strong-side platoon role with Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) sidelined, although Richie Palacios (finger) appears to be nearing a return. Nonetheless, Misner is reaching base consistently, collecting at least one hit in eight of his 10 starts. Most impressively, Misner has struck out at just a 16.3 percent clip after striking out at around a 30 percent rate in the upper levels of the minors.
