Analisi
Turner had started in six of the Mariners' previous seven contests, but all but one of those came against left-handed starting pitchers. The 39-year-old looks like he'll fill the short side of a platoon at first base with Luke Raley while Seattle has all of its key bats available.

Clubs two homers in loss
Turner went 3-for-5 with two solo homers in Saturday's loss to the Angels.
Analisi
Turner launched a leadoff shot to left field in his first trip to the plate to put Seattle on the board before then adding a second leadoff homer in the fourth to give his team the lead. The first baseman would go on to reach three times in the contest while posting his first three-hit effort as a member of the Mariners. It marked Turner's second two-homer performance of the season and he's now driven in and scored at least one run in back-to-back games. The long balls were only his eighth and ninth of the campaign.

After going 3-for-15 at the dish while starting in each of the Mariners' last four contests, Turner will head to the bench for the series finale. Three of Turner's previous four starts came against left-handed pitchers, and the Mariners are seemingly viewing him as more of a short-side platoon player at this stage of his career.
