Starting rehab assignment
McNeil (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Friday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Analisi

McNeil had been rehabbing in New York, but he's headed to warmer temperatures as he accelerates his program, which includes taking batting practice on the field Tuesday for the first time since his oblique injury. The Mets haven't provided word yet regarding when he might be ready for a rehab assignment, but it shouldn't be long.
