Perdomo was caught stealing on his first attempt of the game, but he bounced back with a theft in the sixth inning. The shortstop is 16-for-25 on steals this season, though he hadn't been caught in July prior to Monday. Perdomo's lone hit was a memorable one, as his line drive to left field in the seventh inning was misplayed by Jose Fermin and resulted in an inside-the-park homer. It's been a fairly pedestrian July for Perdomo, who's hitting just .204 with two homers, five RBI, 10 runs and three stolen bases across 13 games. The shortstop has taken a step back from his breakout 2025 campaign, slashing .238/.355/.358 with seven homers, 36 RBI, 48 runs and 15 stolen bases across 95 contests in 2026.

Perdomo received a cortisone shot in his left hand during the All-Star break to combat hand issues that he's dealt with over the course of his career, but it won't cause him to miss any games as the D-backs begin their second-half schedule. The 26-year-old has taken a step back this season after enjoying a breakout campaign in 2025, and he's slashing just .225/.311/.325 in 10 games since the beginning of July.

Gets cortisone shot in hand
Perdomo received a cortisone injection in his left hand during the All-Star break this week, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

The issue arose during last week's series in San Diego, manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday. "He battles hand issues throughout the course of the year, ever since we've had him," Lovullo said. "I was told it's not going to hinder him whatsoever." Perdomo posted an image on social media showing his left hand bandaged up. It's unclear if he'll be in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Cardinals.
