Closing in on return
Lindor (calf) played all nine innings for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, and he's expected to play a simulated game Monday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Analisi
The star shortstop will likely then get a day off before potentially being activated from the injured list Wednesday. Even if Lindor needs a little more time at that point, he's tracking toward a return to the big-league lineup this week. Through his first 105 plate appearances this season prior to straining his left calf April 22, Lindor had a .226/.314/.335 slash line with two homers, two steals, five RBI and 14 runs.

Beginning assignment Friday
Lindor (calf) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Binghamton on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Analisi
Lindor has been on the shelf since late April due to a strained left calf, but after resuming full baseball activities last week, he's now been cleared to test his calf in minor-league games. The Mets expect the star shortstop to return to their lineup before the end of the month, so it doesn't seem like he's in line for a lengthy stay in the minors.

Could begin rehab stint next week
Lindor (calf) played three innings in a simulated game Friday, and he could begin an official rehab assignment Monday, MLB.com reports.
Analisi
The star shortstop's absence from the lineup since April 22 has been a big factor in the Mets' poor start to the season, but Lindor appears to be closing in on his return. The team seems confident he won't need a lengthy rehab stint despite the long layoff, which could put him in position to be back in the lineup for a home series against the Phillies that begins June 26. Prior to straining his calf, Lindor has just begun to get rolling at the plate, slashing .304/.319/.457 over his last 12 games.
