Socks 16th homer
Varsho went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Reds.
Analisi
The center fielder took Reds closer Emilio Pagan deep in the ninth inning, capping a three-run rally that gave the Blue Jays a 4-2 lead, but the Toronto bullpen immediately handed it right back to Cincy in the bottom of the frame. Varsho was out of the lineup for a couple games due to a bruised hand, but Monday's long ball was a strong sign that he's fully healthy. Over the course of an injury-plagued season, Varsho has 16 homers and a career-best .866 OPS in just 49 games.

Back in action Monday
Varsho (hand) will start in center field and bat fifth in Monday's game against the Reds.
Analisi
Varsho will make his return to the lineup after he had been held out of the starting nine for the final two games of the Blue Jays' weekend series versus Milwaukee due to a bruised right hand. He ended up coming off the bench and played an inning of center field in Sunday's 8-4 win, and with his hand providing no apparent complications following that contest, Varsho was given the green light to start in Monday's series opener in Cincinnati.

Sitting again Sunday
Varsho (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
Analisi
Varsho was hit by a pitch on the right hand Friday and was diagnosed with a contusion after X-rays came back negative, and he'll be held out of the starting nine Sunday for a second straight game. The 29-year-old was reportedly available off the bench for Saturday's contest but didn't appear in the game, and he'll presumably be available in that capacity again Sunday.

Not starting Saturday but improving
Varsho (hand) isn't in the starting lineup Saturday versus Milwaukee but could be available as a defensive replacement or pinch hitter, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analisi
Varsho had to make an early exit from Friday's contest after being hit by a pitch on his right hand. X-rays returned negative, and manager John Schneider shared Saturday morning that Varsho is doing well but is dealing with some pain and swelling. The team intends to test Varsho out pre-game to see if he could be available as a late-inning option, while Myles Straw is starting in center field in his stead Saturday.

X-rays negative
X-rays on Varsho's right hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch in the seventh inning of Friday's loss to Milwaukee, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analisi
The Blue Jays may hold Varsho out for a game or two so that he can properly recover, but the fact that he escaped the incident without any structural damage bodes well for his chances of avoiding the injured list. Myles Straw would be the likely choice to start in center field if Varsho sits.

Hit by pitch, exits game
Varsho was removed from Friday's game against the Brewers after taking a pitch off his right hand, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Analisi
Varsho had gone 0-for-2 with a strikeout before being plunked by a 97-mph sinker in the seventh inning. He was immediately lifted for a pinch runner, and the Blue Jays will now bring him in for examination to determine whether he suffered any structural damage. He can be considered day-to-day for the time being.
