Sidelined by elbow inflammation
The Orioles placed Povich on the 15-day injured list Friday with left shoulder inflammation.
Analisi
Povich had to depart Thursday's game in Miami with the injury, and it's not a surprise it led to an IL stint. It's unclear whether the southpaw needs additional testing or if he's already been cleared of any structural damage in his pitching elbow. Trey Gibson has taken Povich's spot on the Baltimore roster.

Exits early with forearm issue
Povich exited Thursday's contest against the Marlins in the fourth inning with left forearm discomfort, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Analisi
Povich pitched three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out one batter before he was forced to exit the game prior to taking the mound in the bottom of the fourth frame. The left-hander was making his second start with the big-league club since being called up from Triple-A on May 1. Povich finished his day having thrown just 43 pitches, and more information on his status will likely be provided in the near future.

Another turn in rotation awaits
Povich is slated to start Thursday's game against the Marlins in Miami, Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com reports.
Analisi
With Trevor Rogers (illness) hitting the injured list, the Orioles summoned Povich from Triple-A Norfolk last Friday to fill the opening in the rotation. Povich stumbled in a tough matchup with the Yankees on the road, striking out four batters over four innings but yielding five earned runs on seven hits and two walks en route to taking a loss. The lefty will get a more favorable draw for his upcoming turn through the rotation, but given that he maintains a 5.14 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 208.1 career innings in the majors, he won't be a comfortable lineup option for fantasy managers looking to protect their ratios.

Chased early Friday
Povich (1-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over four innings.
Analisi
Povich struggled from the jump, surrendering five runs across the first two innings, including four via the long ball. He generated eight swinging strikes on 77 pitches and allowed eight hard-hit balls, including five over 100 mph. It was a rough return for the southpaw, who is filling in for Trevor Rogers (illness), after yielding three earned runs across 12.1 major-league innings in early April. He'll try to rebound in a road matchup against the Marlins next week.
