Analisi
Povich took advantage of a matchup with the last-place White Sox, turning in his best start thus far in his rookie campaign, striking out a season-high 10 batters in a scoreless effort. Povich had lost five of his last six outings coming into Tuesday, posting an ugly 9.24 ERA in that span. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 5.76 though 59.1 innings this year with a 1.60 WHIP and 47:26 K:BB. Povich is currently slated for a road matchup with the Red Sox early next week in his next start.

Povich (1-7) took the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing five runs on 10 hits and one walk over 3.1 innings while striking out three.
Analisi
Povich got knocked around early and often, allowing at least two hits in each of the four innings where he took the mound. The southpaw generated just four whiffs over that stretch while allowing five runs for the second-consecutive start. Povich has now lost his last five decisions, allowing three or more runs in five of six outings over that stretch. He'll finish up the month of August with a 7.36 ERA to go along with a 12:3 K:BB.
