Tidwell was called up from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of the contest and ended up covering the final three innings for the Giants. The right-hander breezed through his outing, holding New York without a hit while throwing 24 of 37 pitches for strikes. The Giants recalled Tidwell from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analisi
After being sent down to Triple-A to begin the regular season, Tidwell will quickly receive a call-up to the majors to replace the injured Jose Butto (forearm). Tidwell, 24, gave up 15 earned runs over 15 innings with the Mets last year, but he kicked off the 2026 campaign by striking out three batters over 2.2 scoreless innings with Sacramento.
