Gets screw inserted into hand
Pages had a compression screw inserted into his fractured left hand in an attempt to expedite healing, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Pages suffered the fracture when he was hit by a pitch Friday. The All-Star outfielder is looking at a 4-5 week timeline to return to game action, which would push up against the end of the regular season. It appears the Dodgers are hoping Pages can get back at the early end of the estimated timeline, and perhaps even sooner, via the compression screw procedure, but it remains to be seen how beneficial it will be. Until he's able to return, Alek Thomas may get most of the starts for Los Angeles in center field -- he's making a second straight start there Sunday.

The Dodgers placed Pages on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hand fracture.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Pages was diagnosed with a left hand fracture following his early exit from Friday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Pirates, and the outfielder is expected to miss 4-to-5 weeks, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Pages was plunked in the hand by a 100-mph sinker from Bubba Chandler in the third inning, prompting the Dodgers to send the 25-year-old in for X-rays, which confirmed the fracture.
