Stumbles in sixth inning
Oller (1-2) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and five walks over 5.1 innings against the Phillies. He struck out six.
Analisi
Oller held the Phillies to just one run through five but ran into trouble in the sixth, allowing a solo home run to Bryson Stott, then allowed the next two batters to reach base prior to being pulled from the game. Oller came into the contest having allowed a total of one run over his previous two starts but offered up a season-high 10 baserunners including walking five batters to raise his total to 13 on the season through 21.2 innings. While the walk rate continues to be an issue for Oller, the 14 hits he's allowed this season are a major improvement over his previous big-league stints. His next start is set to come in a much more favorable matchup as he's slated to take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Excellent in no-decision
Oller allowed two hits and two walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Friday.
Analisi
Oller threw 53 of 90 pitches for strikes to earn his first quality start since Aug. 27, 2022. His strong effort went to waste when Mike Baumann allowed three runs in the eighth inning, denying Oller his second win of the year. Oller is now at a 3.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB over 16.1 innings. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Phillies in what's likely to be a challenging matchup.
