Amador went 1-for-3 with a stolen base Sunday against the Cardinals.
Analisi
Amador started at second base and hit eighth in his big-league debut Sunday. He led off the third inning with a single and then proceeded to swipe second base. Amador should get regular run in the lineup so long as Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) is sidelined.

The Rockies called up Amador from Double-A Hartford, and he' starting at second base and batting eighth Sunday at St. Louis.

The 21-year-old is taking the roster spot of Brendan Rodgers (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. Amador is one of the organization's top prospects, and he'll make his MLB debut without seeing action at the Triple-A level. Amador's .666 OPS in 208 plate appearances for Hartford this season isn't encouraging, though he carried a hot bat over his past nine games and had a .359/.422/.846 slash line with six home runs and six stolen bases.

With Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) on his way to the 10-day injured list, Amador will get his first crack at big-league action. The 21-year-old hasn't made it past Double-A yet and although he owns a .194 batting average this season at Hartford, Amador is 14-for-39 (.359) with six home runs and six stolen bases in his last nine games. He figures to share playing time with Alan Trejo at second base.

Amador only sports a .666 OPS through 208 plate appearances this season with Hartford, but he has slashed .326/.388/.767 with six homers and 14 RBI while also stealing six bases across his last 10 games. It's unclear how long his first stint in the big leagues will last, but he'll at least provide some immediate middle-infield depth with Brendan Rodgers battling a hamstring injury.
