The second-year wing failed to reach 30 minutes for a second straight game, but this time it's because Utah emptied what little bench it had available in the fourth quarter of a rout, rather than Williams' own poor performance. The 10th overall pick in the 2024 Draft has scored in double digits in seven of the last eight games as he handles elevated court time and usage for the shorthanded Jazz, averaging 16.4 points, 5.1 boards, 4.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 threes in 35.0 minutes over that stretch while shooting 53.2 percent from the floor.

Williams contributed seven points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists and one steal over 25 minutes during Wednesday's 147-111 loss to the Timberwolves.
Analisi
Williams was unable to repeat his 34-point performance from three nights earlier, instead turning in arguably his worst performance in the past two weeks. With that said, Williams' role appears relatively safe. In seven appearances over the past two weeks, he has been a top-100 talent in standard leagues, averaging 15.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 three-pointers.

Williams totaled 34 points (12-20 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal in 38 minutes during Sunday's 116-111 loss to the Kings.

The second-year wing led the Utah offense on the night and shattered his previous career scoring high of 19, set Friday in Portland. Williams has taken on a much larger role for the injury-ravaged Jazz in March, playing at least 36 minutes in six straight games while averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 boards, 5.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 threes and shooting 51.4 percent from the floor.

The 19 points were a career high for the second-year wing. Williams has scored in double digits in five straight games as he handles a bigger workload for the shorthanded Jazz, averaging 13.4 points, 5.2 boards, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steals in a massive 38.0 minutes over that span. With Lauri Markkanen (hip) still sidelined and Ace Bailey exiting Friday's game early due to concussion symptoms, Williams should continue to get leaned on heavily in the short term.
