Murray (calf) finished Tuesday's 131-90 loss to the Clippers with 11 points (4-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block in 30 minutes.
Analyse
Murray returned from a two-game absence due to a right calf strain and saw a sizable workload immediately. However, the 25-year-old forward struggled with efficiency and didn't offer much in terms of peripheral numbers. Murray has shot more than 40 percent from beyond the arc just once over his last 10 appearances, averaging 12.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.2 assists and 1.1 triples in 35.3 minutes per game over that stretch.

The Kings planned to be without Murray for at least one week due to his strained right calf as of this past Friday, but the sharpshooter is well ahead of schedule in his recovery. His presence figures to push Keon Ellis back into a reserve role. Through his first 15 regular-season appearances, Murray has averaged 14.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 steals in 37.1 minutes per game. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Kings closely monitor his playing time Tuesday.

Murray might have a shot at returning to action a bit earlier than initially expected, though a final call on his status will be made closer to Tuesday's 11 p.m. ET tipoff. Nique Clifford and Keon Ellis would be in line to see a decrease in minutes if Murray is able to return against the Clippers. The fourth-year forward is averaging 12.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game since the beginning of December.

Murray was diagnosed with a mild strain in his right calf and will be re-evaluated by medical staff in one week, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Murray injured his right calf during the first half of the Kings' loss to the Pistons on Tuesday. With the fourth-year pro out until at least early January, Nique Clifford and Keon Ellis are candidates to enter Sacramento's starting lineup, and Precious Achiuwa could also see his production increase for as long as Murray is sidelined.
