Out at least one more week
The Pistons announced Tuesday that Stewart has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 left calf strain and will be re-evaluated in one week.
Analyse
The update isn't especially surprising, given that Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Sunday that Stewart was without a clear timeline for a return. Bickerstaff also said Stewart has been playing through the injury recently, but it worsened, so the Pistons opted to shut him down. Until Stewart is cleared to play, Paul Reed should remain in the rotation as the backup to starting center Jalen Duren, while forwards Javonte Green and Ronald Holland could see slightly elevated roles.

Without a timetable
Head coach JB Bickerstaff said Sunday that Stewart (calf) is without a timetable to return, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analyse
"It's something he's been dealing with. It just had been getting worse. He gutted it out [Friday versus Memphis] and I think you could see he was favoring it late," said Bickerstaff of Stewart's calf injury. "It's something we're going to take time with." Stewart missed Sunday's loss to the Raptors, and it doesn't sound like Bickerstaff plans on having him available for Week 21. Stewart is a cut candidate for managers currently battling through the fantasy playoffs.

Ruled out for Sunday
Stewart has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raptors due to a left calf strain.
Analyse
The calf injury is a new concern for Stewart, and it's not a positive sign that he's being ruled out a day in advance of tipoff. With the 24-year-old big man unavailable, Paul Reed is expected to see increased burn behind Jalen Duren.

Modest production continues
Stewart produced 10 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one block across 20 minutes during Friday's 126-110 win over the Grizzlies.
Analyse
Stewart continues to serve up adequate production, although given the current injury situation in Detroit, managers have likely been disappointed. Despite Ausar Thompson's absence due to an ankle injury, Stewart's playing time has remained steady. In seven games over the past two weeks, he has been nothing more than a top-160 player, averaging 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 22.5 minutes per contest over that stretch.
