Quiet scoring night in loss
Sabonis accumulated 10 points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 108-102 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Analyse
The double-double was his third straight and league-leading 45th of the season, but the 10 points represented Sabonis' lowest output of the campaign. In two games since Zach LaVine joined the Kings' lineup, Sabonis has attempted only 16 field goals as the team's new starting five works to build chemistry -- a worrying decline in his volume, but something which could end up being just a short-term blip in his numbers. Sabonis has stayed busy on the glass however, pulling down 27 boards over those two contests.

Records double-double in loss
Sabonis posted 21 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 13 rebounds and three assists across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 130-111 loss to the Magic.
Analyse
Sabonis posted customary numbers in the blowout loss, but the opposing one-two punch of Paolo Banchero and Goga Bitadze proved to be stiff opposition for the All-Star. The loss of De'Aaron Fox is generally bad news in the short term for Sabonis, who was often Fox's assist target. The new backcourt combo of Malik Monk and Zach LaVine will need to find more opportunities for their elite center, but Sabonis is equally adept at finding his own spots out in space, especially at the perimeter.

Double-double in Monday's win
Sabonis chipped in 14 points (5-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one block across 37 minutes during Monday's 116-114 win over the Timberwolves.
Analyse
After seeing his latest double-double streak end at 24 games Saturday, Sabonis wasted no time starting a new one. The Kings have swapped De'Aaron Fox out for Zach LaVine in a blockbuster trade, but the move shouldn't have a big impact on Sabonis' usage or role in the frontcourt. The 28-year-old center leads the NBA in rebounds per game at 14.3, a career high for him, and his 43 double-doubles in 46 appearances is five ahead of Karl-Anthony Towns for the league lead.
