Head coach Jason Kidd said after Monday's 101-94 loss to the Thunder that Flagg played through left shoulder soreness and the team will "see how he feels tomorrow," Noah Weber of TheSmokingCuban.com reports. Flagg struggled mightily from the field and had a limited impact in the loss. Analyse
Flagg was undeniably disappointing in Dallas' season opener, but he's done a great job of turning things around over the past two games. Like with all rookies, Flagg will struggle with efficiency and turnovers will likely be a consistent issue, but he has all the tools and is likely to be playing his best basketball during the most critical juncture in the fantasy seasons.

The top pick in the 2025 Draft nearly led a Mavericks comeback, scoring nine straight points for his squad during a three-minute stretch in the fourth quarter, but Flagg then committed a couple of turnovers to cut the momentum short. Growing pains have to be expected for an 18-year-old in the NBA despite the hype surrounding him, but Flagg has mostly been as advertised through two games, showing the ability to drive the offense and contribute across the board.

Flagg's first NBA points didn't come until the third quarter, as Flagg didn't attempt a shot in the final 22 minutes of the first half after missing a dunk and a 21-footer within the opening 120 seconds of the contest. Still, the 2025 No. 1 overall pick finished with a double-double in his regular-season debut. Flagg started at the point-guard position, but he failed to log an assist and turned the ball over three times.
