Garcia (ankle) received a cortisone shot in his right elbow this week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analyse
An ankle sprain sent Garcia to the injured list July 5, but he was recently shut down after experiencing elbow issues while ramping up his throwing program. The plan is for him to remain shut down for another two weeks, at which point the Jays will re-evaluate him and determine next steps.

Shut down with elbow issue
Garcia (ankle) experienced ulnar nerve symptoms in his right elbow recently and has been temporarily shut down, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analyse
Garcia is working his way back from a sprained left ankle, but his rehab will be halted due to an elbow issue. The Blue Jays medical staff will evaluate Garcia in the coming days, after which there should be more information regarding the severity of the setback.
