Diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma
Arrighetti has been diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma in his right foot but is aiming to pitch through the issue, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Morton's Neuroma is a buildup of skin in the foot that leads to nerve problems. Arrighetti had to be pulled off his rehab assignment last week after the foot issue flared up, but the hurler is hopeful ongoing treatment will allow him to pitch through the injury. It's unclear when Arrighetti -- who was acquired from the Astros at the trade deadline for Daulton Varsho -- might be ready to resume his rehab assignment.

Pulled off rehab with foot symptoms
Arrighetti will undergo an MRI on his injured right foot after exiting Thursday's rehab start, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Arrighetti experienced symptoms similar to the nerve issues he's previously dealt with, according to Zwelling. He's meeting the Blue Jays in Philadelphia and will undergo further testing. "Hopefully just a little pause, not a restart or reset," manager John Schneider said Friday. Arrighetti was acquired from the Astros in exchange for Daulton Varsho at the trade deadline earlier this week.

Exits rehab start early
Arrighetti (foot) suffered an injury and was removed from his minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo in the third inning, Thomas Hall of The Jays Nation reports.

Arrighetti appeared to tweak his troublesome right foot with one out in the top of the third inning, and he was forced to exit as a result. The right-hander has been on the 15-day injured list since July 25 while battling nerve irritation in his right foot, and he was making the first start of his minor-league rehab assignment Thursday. More information on Arrighetti's status will likely be provided in the near future, but he certainly appears to have suffered a setback in his recovery.

Nearing rehab assignment
Arrighetti (foot) threw a bullpen session Tuesday and is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Analyse
Arrighetti landed on the injured list July 25 due to nerve irritation in his right foot, but he's made encouraging progress in his recovery and even said he'd be willing to pitch in Toronto's current series against the Astros -- his former team -- if needed. He won't be eligible to return from the IL until Sunday, however, and the Jays will likely hold off on having him make his team debut until mid-August.
