Battles control in no-decision
Suarez didn't factor into the decision against the Marlins on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out four.
Analyse
Suarez exhibited an uncharacteristic lack of control, issuing a season-worst four free passes, but he was still able to hold Miami in check Monday. The 30-year-old left-hander is still searching for a rhythm since coming off the injured list July 26 with a groin strain, logging a 4.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB over his last six starts (27 frames). Suarez, who still has a strong 3.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 117:37 K:BB across 118.1 innings in 2026, has a tough road matchup against the division-rival Yankees on tap for this weekend.

Increases workload again in win
Suarez (5-3) earned the win against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
Analyse
Suarez allowed a grand slam in the third inning but was otherwise strong, throwing 63 of 93 total pitches for strikes while working into the sixth for the first time since returning from the injured list July 26. The southpaw has increased his pitch count in each of his five outings during that stretch and appears to be fully stretched out at this point. He'll carry a 3.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 113:33 K:BB across 113.1 innings this season into a road matchup with the Marlins next week.
