Goes deep again Wednesday
McGonigle went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Astros.
Analyse
McGonigle is starting to get his power stroke going, as he now has three home runs across his last nine games. Before that, the rookie infielder had three long balls in his first 72 games of the season. McGonigle was already producing plenty of fantasy value thanks to his .282 batting average and .390 on-base percentage, but the uptick in power production is adding another element to his game.

Goes deep in win Monday
McGonigle went 2-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 9-3 win over the Astros.
Analyse
Colt Keith stole the show with a three-homer night, but McGonigle still managed to put together another great performance. The rookie infielder lifted his fifth home run of the season in the second inning, and he recorded multiple walks for the second time in his last five games. McGonigle is showing a patient approach at the plate with a little pop, which has made him a dynamic leadoff hitter for the Tigers and likely the frontrunner for American League Rookie of the Year at the moment.

Shows patient eye, scores twice
McGonigle went 0-for-2 with three walks and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Twins.
Analyse
While he didn't record any hits, McGonigle was still able to get on base frequently due to his good eye at the plate. The rookie now has 42 walks this season in 65 games versus only 38 strikeouts, and his .394 on-base percentage reflects his patient approach. McGonigle is locked in as Detroit's primary leadoff hitter, and he's having a tremendous debut campaign from a fantasy perspective.
