Stellar in seventh win
Gausman (7-11) earned the win Monday, allowing three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings in a 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks. He struck out six.
Analyse
After exiting his previous start due to a left hand cramp, Gausman turned in an excellent effort in the desert, throwing 67 of 94 pitches for strikes and keeping the Diamondbacks off the board across seven frames. In four outings with the Cubs, the right-hander has posted a 4.30 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB in 23 innings. Overall, the 35-year-old owns a 4.37 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 149:41 K:BB across 150.1 innings (27 starts) and is tentatively scheduled to pitch Sunday against the Reds.

In clear to start Monday
Gausman (hand) is listed as the Cubs' probable starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
Analyse
Gausman dealt with cramping in his non-pitching hand during his previous appearance in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox, but he apparently made it through his between-starts bullpen session without issue and will be able to take his next turn through the rotation on five days' rest. Since being acquired from the Blue Jays on Aug. 2, Gausman has gone 1-1 with a 6.19 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB in 16 innings through his first three starts with the Cubs.

Diagnosed with left hand cramp
Gausman was removed from Tuesday's start against the White Sox with a left hand cramp, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Analyse
Gausman was seen looking at his non-pitching hand in the top of the fourth inning and was removed from the game in the fifth after Miguel Vargas singled with one out. It sounds like Gausman should be ready to take the ball his next turn through the rotation after surrendering three runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts on 86 pitches across 4.1 frames against the White Sox.

Exits with trainer Tuesday
Gausman was removed from Tuesday's start against the White Sox in the top of the fifth inning with an apparent left hand injury, Jared Wyllys of AllCHGO.com reports.
Analyse
Gausman had to have his left, non-pitching hand, particularly his thumb, examined in the top of the fourth frame, and it appeared to be cramping up on the right-hander. After allowing an infield single to Miguel Vargas, Gausman was removed from the game after yielding three runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts across 4.1 innings. He threw 86 pitches. It's unclear if Gausman will be ready to make his next scheduled start.
