Jefferies (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.
Analyse
Jefferies has been out of commission for nearly two months with right elbow inflammation, so he will surely require multiple rehab appearances. Once the Pirates decide the right-hander is ready, he'll probably be used in long relief.

Jefferies (elbow) threw a live batting practice session earlier this week and is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analyse
Jefferies has been sidelined since early July with right elbow inflammation but is finally ready to test things out in a game setting. Given the length of his absence, he figures to require a handful of rehab appearances before being considered for the Pirates' active roster.
