Back on injured list

The Angels placed Taylor on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hand fracture.

Analyse

Taylor spent more than a month on the injured list with a fractured left hand before returning Monday, but a similar injury will put him right back on the IL five days later. Scott Kingery is up from Triple-A Salt Lake and will replace Taylor as the Angels' bench utility man.

Returns from 10-day IL

The Angels activated Taylor (hand) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Analyse

Taylor has been shelved since early June after suffering a fractured left hand, but he's ready to roll after a brief rehab stint. The veteran utility player could see some action at second base while Christian Moore (thumb) is on the IL.

In midst of rehab stint

Taylor (hand) began a minor-league rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Thursday and has gone 4-for-6 with two walks and two RBI through two games.

Analyse

Taylor fractured his left hand when he was pit by a pitch in a game June 9 but is far enough in his recovery to play in games. Assuming he doesn't have any setbacks during his rehab stint, the utility man could be back with the Angels before the end of July.
