Three shutout innings in relief
Patrick allowed three hits and a walk across three shutout innings in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Nationals.
Analyse
After Aaron Ashby served as the opener Friday, throwing 44 pitches across 2.1 innings, Patrick came on with a 3-2 lead and proceeded to fire three shutout frames on 50 pitches. He didn't record a strikeout but lowered his ERA to 0.73 with a 7:5 K:BB across 12.1 innings through three appearances. Patrick is projected to make his next start Thursday against the Blue Jays, though it's unclear if the Brewers will again use an opener ahead of Patrick.

Not starting Wednesday
Patrick is slated to make his next start Friday against the Nationals at American Family Field, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports.
Analyse
After Patrick last pitched Saturday in Kansas City in Game 1 of a doubleheader, Milwaukee had previously been listing the right-hander as its starter for Wednesday's series finale in Boston. However, rather than having Patrick pitch on three days' rest against the Red Sox, the Brewers will turn to the newly recalled Shane Drohan to start Wednesday in his MLB debut. Through two outings on the season, Patrick has gone 1-0 while striking out seven and allowing one earned run on nine hits and four walks across 9.1 innings.

Next start coming on short rest
Patrick is listed as the Brewers' probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game in Boston, Chris Henrique of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.
Analyse
The right-hander appears set to make his third start of the season on just three days' rest, after he most recently tossed five shutout innings Saturday in the Brewers' 5-2 win over the Royals in Game 1 of a doubleheader. With that in mind, the Brewers could look to once again keep Patrick's workload in check Wednesday before turning the game over to the bullpen; he tossed just 74 and 86 pitches in his first two starts. If that ends up being the case, Patrick may need to work efficiently against the Red Sox in order to cover the five innings he would need to hit to qualify for a win.

Quiets Royals in first win
Patrick (1-0) notched the win Saturday against the Royals, allowing no runs on four hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out four.
Analyse
Patrick's control wasn't the sharpest Saturday, but he managed to keep Kansas City pretty quiet in the hit column. Although two of his hits allowed went for extra bases, the right-hander was able to leave both of those runners stranded to continue a very strong start to his campaign in terms of run prevention. Patrick has surrendered a lone run across his first 9.1 innings, though his 7:4 K:BB isn't nearly as impressive. Even so, he should continue to carry streaming appeal in his next scheduled start versus the Nationals.
