Delivers quality start in win
Patrick (3-4) earned the win against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks with six strikeouts over six innings.
Analyse
The Brewers' offense exploded and Patrick capitalized, generating 10 whiffs on 94 pitches en route to his first win since May 6. While the 26-year-old has completed six frames just four times, he has now yielded three earned runs or fewer in all 12 of his starts this season. He'll take an impressive 2.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 57:18 K:BB across 63.2 innings into a home matchup with the Padres next weekend.

Making start Saturday
Patrick will start Saturday's game against the Phillies, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analyse
Patrick was originally expected to work in bulk relief behind Rob Zastryzny on Saturday, but the Brewers ultimately decided to use Patrick as their starter once they saw Bryce Harper (elbow) wouldn't be in Philadelphia's starting nine, per Hogg. Patrick has been a nice find for Milwaukee's rotation this season, turning in a 2.97 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 57.2 innings and most recently firing 4.2 shutout frames with six strikeouts against the Red Sox.

Slated for bulk-relief appearance
Patrick is expected to serve as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Rob Zastryzny in Saturday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analyse
Patrick has started in 11 of his 12 appearances on the season and owns an excellent 2.97 ERA, but he has a 2-4 record to show for it. The Brewers have typically been reluctant to let Patrick work deep into games -- he's covered five-plus innings just five times -- but working as a bulk reliever should boost his chances of coming away with a win if he ends up exiting Saturday's contest with a lead. With the Phillies typically deploying two left-handed bats (Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper or Bryson Stott) in the top three spots in the lineup, the Brewers will likely have the lefty Zastryzny pitch just one inning before he turns the game over to Patrick.

Scoreless outing in no-decision
Patrick did not factor into the decision during Monday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox, throwing 4.2 scoreless innings while allowing three hits and two walks and striking out six.
Analyse
Patrick departed the game with the Brewers out in front, but did not quite make it the five innings required to qualify for the win. Still, he held his own against Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet in a pitcher's duel. It continues a pattern for the 26-year-old as he has failed to reach five innings in five of his 11 starts, but he hasn't allowed over three runs in a single one all season. By keeping the Brewers in every game he's pitched in, the right-hander, even without a high volume of extended starts, is making a compelling case to stick in the rotation once the team gets healthier. His next scheduled start is on the road against the NL East-leading Phillies.
