The Rockies placed Quantrill (tricep) on the 15-day injured list Sunday.
Analyse
Quantrill had been in line to start Sunday's series finale with the Orioles at Coors Field, but he was scratched a day in advance after experiencing right triceps inflammation. According to Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com, Quantrill's injury isn't considered significant, with manager Bud Black noting that the right-hander is expected to return from the IL before the end of September. Ty Blach was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to fill Quantrill's spot on the active roster and in the rotation.

Analyse
Quantrill made his last start Tuesday against the Marlins, when he allowed four runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out two across 5.2 innings in a no decision. The 29-year-old right-hander has struggled over his seven starts since the All-Star break, posting a 2-2 record with a 6.06 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 25:18 K:BB over 35.2 innings. It's unclear whether the triceps injury will keep him out of his next start, which is pencilled in for Sept. 7 against the Brewers. Southpaw Ty Blach will be recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque and start Sunday.

Quantrill allowed four runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out two over 5.2 innings to take a no-decision versus the Marlins on Tuesday.
Analyse
The five walks matched his season high. Quantrill exited in line for the win, but the Rockies' ninth-inning collapse denied him his ninth victory. The veteran right-hander has allowed 25 runs (24 earned) over 35.2 innings since the All-Star break, and he's posted a 25:18 K:BB in that span. He's now at a 4.63 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 103:57 K:BB through 138 innings over 26 starts this year. Quantrill's next start is projected to be at home this weekend versus the Orioles.
