Hits 70-pitch mark in rehab outing
Povich (hip) made a rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, striking out six while allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in five innings.
Analyse
Povich made his third rehab appearance since he suffered a setback in his recovery from left hip inflammation in late June, and he was able to push up his pitch count to 70. The Orioles will need to add a sixth starter to the mix during the upcoming week, so Povich could be an option to return from the 15-day injured list to pitch in one half of a doubleheader next Tuesday with the Blue Jays.

Another rehab start on tap
Povich (hip) is slated to make his next rehab start Thursday or Friday with Triple-A Norfolk, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
His rehab stint was initially paused in late June due to renewed soreness in his hip, but Povich resumed the assignment July 13. He's pitched effectively in his last two outings between High-A Aberdeen and Norfolk, covering 6.1 innings over those starts while striking out nine and allowing one earned run on three hits and one walk. He tossed 62 pitches Saturday for Norfolk, so the southpaw will likely look to push his pitch count into the 70-80 range next week, setting him up to potentially rejoin the big-league rotation afterward.

Throws 62 pitches in rehab start
Povich (hip) struck out six while allowing one earned run on three hits and one walk over 3.1 innings in a rehab start Saturday with Triple-A Norfolk.
Analyse
After firing three perfect innings in his previous rehab outing for High-A Aberdeen last Sunday, Povich was fairly sharp in his 62-pitch appearance for Norfolk. The left-hander is tracking toward a return from the injured list in late July or early August, although it's unclear if Baltimore will have a spot in its rotation available for him once he's activated. Trevor Rogers, who was recalled from the minor leagues to replace Povich when he got injured, has delivered a sparkling 1.53 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB over six starts with Baltimore and appears to have established himself as a fixture in the rotation moving forward.
