Molina (3-0) picked up the win Saturday, allowing two unearned runs on one hit and one walk over five innings in a 9-5 victory over the Mets. He struck out six.

A Rafael Devers error extended the second inning and led to a two-run homer for A.J. Ewing, but it was the only hit Molina gave up over 87 pitches (55 strikes). The 24-year-old right-hander has gotten into the win column in his first three outings for the Giants since being acquired at the trade deadline from Atlanta, posting a 1.88 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB over 14.1 innings. He'll look to keep that streak going in his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Padres.

Making his third career start and first as a Giant, Molina threw 54 of 75 pitches for strikes and generated 18 whiffs while setting a career high with six strikeouts against his former team. He allowed a run in the first and a leadoff homer to Michael Harris in the second before retiring 10 straight batters, including five consecutive strikeouts, then surrendered his final run in the fifth. Molina has earned the win in both of his appearances for the Giants, allowing three runs across 9.1 innings with a 7:1 K:BB. Molina began the season in the Atlanta organization before the Giants acquired him Aug. 2. After being recalled from Triple-A Sacramento last week, Molina made his team debut in long relief Tuesday, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings in a 3-1 win over the Reds. He tossed 52 pitches in that outing, so Molina could have his workload capped at around 60-to-75 pitches as he makes his third career big-league start and first as a member of the Giants.
