Wembanyama took advantage of the Lakers being shorthanded in the second leg of their back-to-back set. The star big man scored 25 points in the first quarter and had 37 by the end of the first half. The 22-year-old led all players in points and rebounds en route to his 25th game with a double-double or better (one triple-double) through 39 regular-season appearances. He has reached the 40-point threshold twice this season and tied his season high Tuesday, which he originally set in San Antonio's season-opening win over Dallas.

Stephon Castle stole the show Saturday with a 40-point triple-double, but Wembanyama put together a solid performance himself. It was the latter's 18th three-plus block game of the season and his 24th double-double, which is tied for sixth most in the Association. Nine of those double-doubles have come over Wembanyama's last 12 outings, and over that span he has averaged 23.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.4 threes, 2.8 blocks and 1.0 steals over 29.2 minutes per game.

Wembanyama had 29 points (9-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals across 34 minutes during Thursday's 135-123 win over Dallas.
Analyse
Wembanyama posted a strong shooting line, highlighted by five made triples. Thursday marked his best showing from deep since Jan. 19, when he went 7-for-12 from downtown. Wembanyama continues to feast on the opposite end of the court and has racked up 10 total swats over his last three games.
