Drops 31 points vs. Denver
Murphy logged 31 points (11-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal over 34 minutes during the Pelicans' 122-116 loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday.
Analysis
Murphy came out firing with 22 points in the first half, but he wasn't able to carry that kind of volume over the final two quarters of Tuesday's loss. It was his seventh 30-plus-point performance of the season, and he has scored at least 21 points in seven of his last eight outings. Over that eight-game span, Murphy has connected on 52.4 percent of his field-goal attempts and 44.1 percent of his three-point tries (on 11.6 3PA/G) while averaging 27.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 5.1 threes and 0.9 steals over 36.7 minutes per game.

Strikes for 21 in Sunday's loss
Murphy accumulated 21 points (8-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and six assists across 37 minutes during Sunday's 128-118 loss to Orlando.
Analysis
Back trouble has sidelined Murphy for two of the Pelicans' last six games, but the fifth-year wing has been productive when he's been on the court. Murphy's scored more than 20 points in six of his last seven appearances dating back to Dec. 27, averaging 26.4 points, 6.6 boards, 5.3 threes, 3.7 assists and 0.9 steals over that stretch.

Drops 35 points in win
Murphy generated 35 points (13-24 FG, 7-16 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and four steals across 36 minutes in Friday's 128-107 win over the Wizards.
Analysis
Murphy returned to action after missing Wednesday's loss to the Hawks due to back spasms, and he led all players in points, triples and steals Friday. The 25-year-old swingman has been on fire recently, scoring 20-plus points in five of his last six appearances, including back-to-back outings with at least 35. He has shot an impressive 43.6 percent from downtown during that span, knocking down at least six triples in four of those games.

Good to go Friday
Murphy (back) is available for Friday's game against the Wizards.
Analysis
Murphy will shed his questionable tag due to back spasms after missing Wednesday's loss to the Hawks. The 25-year-old swingman has scored at least 21 points in four of his last five appearances, averaging 25.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists across 37.2 minutes per contest during that stretch. With Murphy back in action, fewer minutes will be available for the likes of Jordan Poole, Bryce McGowens and Micah Peavy.

Listed questionable for Friday
Murphy (back, ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Wizards.
Analysis
In addition to back spasms, Murphy is also dealing with a minor right ankle sprain. Murphy was unable to play Wednesday against the Hawks, so the Pelicans leaned heavily on Jordan Poole, Bryce McGowens and Micah Peavy.
