Takes part in practice
Towns (elbow) participated in practice Sunday, Jared Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
Analysis
Towns was held out of Friday's game against Chicago after suffering a right elbow injury, but it appears he's trending in the right direction after practicing Sunday morning. The team should have an official designation for the big man closer to Monday's game in Atlanta.

Ruled out for Friday
Towns (elbow) won't play Friday versus the Bulls, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Towns only took a few shots at shootaround before grabbing at his elbow and retreating back to the locker room, so it's not surprising to see him get ruled out for Friday's game. Mitchell Robinson will draw the start in his absence, and for now, Towns should be viewed as questionable for Monday's game in Atlanta.

Questionable for Friday
Towns is questionable for Friday's game against the Bulls with a right elbow issue.
Analysis
Towns was a late addition to the injury report after the Knicks submitted a clean report the previous day. With the Bulls struggling, the Knicks may be tempted to hold Towns out as a precaution. If he sits, the Knicks could lean more on Mitchell Robinson.

Triple-doubles in victory
Towns notched 20 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 FT), 11 rebounds, 11 assists and one block across 29 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Grizzlies.
Analysis
With Jalen Brunson (ankle) unavailable for the second leg of this back-to-back set, Towns took advantage of a favorable matchup and recorded his first triple-double of the season. The star big man dished out a game- and season-high 11 assists, matching his career-best mark. He also finished as New York's third-leading scorer, reaching the 20-point threshold for the sixth time over his last eight games. Towns has grabbed double-digit boards in six of those eight games as well.

Strong on glass in loss
Towns racked up 15 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 18 rebounds, two assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Sunday's 111-100 loss to the Thunder.
Analysis
Towns got involved offensively late in the game, but by the time he was doing damage near the rim, it was too late for the Knicks to mount a comeback. Towns continues to leave a mark on both ends of the court, and the 18 boards he grabbed Sunday were his best output in that category since the beginning of February. He has posted 20.6 points and 12.9 rebounds per game in 14 appearances since the beginning of February.
