Bounces back with ninth save
Duran gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his ninth save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Guardians.
Analysis
One day after serving up a game-winning homer to Kyle Manzardo in a 1-0 loss, Duran was locked in and fired 16 of 20 pitches for strikes as he remained a perfect 9-for-9 in converting save chances on the season. The right-hander sports a 2.25 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB through eight innings since making an early May return from an oblique strain.

Duran (1-2) took the loss Friday, giving up a run on two hits in the ninth inning of a 1-0 loss to the Guardians. He struck out one.
Analysis
Called in to protect a 0-0 tie, Duran instead served up a game-winning solo shot to Kyle Manzardo on a first-pitch splitter that caught too much of the plate. It was the first home run Duran has allowed this season, and while he does have two losses, the Phillies closer is a perfect 8-for-8 in converting save chances while posting a 1.98 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB through 13.2 innings.

Duran secured the save Monday against the Reds, throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out two.
Analysis
Duran has been especially dominant as of late, fanning multiple batters in six consecutive outings since coming off the injured list with an oblique strain in early May. The hard-throwing right-hander has established a very strong grip on Philadelphia's closer role, boasting a 1.42 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB over 12.2 innings while successfully converting all eight of his save opportunities.
