Won't play Friday
Mathurin (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Kings, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Mathurin was part of the Pacers' trade package to the Clippers on Thursday that saw Ivica Zubac (personal) being shipped to Indiana. The trade is still pending, so Mathurin's next chance to make his Clippers debut will be Sunday against the Timberwolves. Mathurin and Darius Garland (toe) figure to serve as the Clippers' starting backcourt when both are available to play.

Heading to LAC
The Pacers traded Mathurin (rest), Isaiah Jackson, two first-round picks and a second-round pick to the Clippers on Thursday in exchange for Ivica Zubac (personal) and Kobe Brown, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Analysis
Injuries have limited Mathurin to just 28 regular-season games in 2025-26, but he's set to play a sizable role for the Clippers now that James Harden is out of the backcourt mix. His departure from Indiana frees up more playing time for Johnny Furphy, and his presence in Los Angeles should eat into the minutes of Jordan Miller. Mathurin averaged 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 29.6 minutes per contest in his last eight games for Indiana. He should be considered questionable for Friday's game in Sacramento while the trade finalizes.

Sitting out Tuesday
Mathurin (rest) is out for Tuesday's game against Utah.
Analysis
Mathurin is joining three other Pacers starters as a spectator for rest purposes Tuesday. The expectation is that the swingman will return to action Friday in Milwaukee. With Indiana missing so many key players, Ben Sheppard and Johnny Furphy appear to be strong streaming options in the backcourt.

Tallies 25 points off bench
Mathurin finished with 25 points (8-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), four rebounds and five assists in 34 minutes during Monday's 118-114 loss to the Rockets.
Analysis
Mathurin put together a strong showing in his fourth straight appearance off the bench. He was efficient from the field and got to the charity stripe regularly, putting up a team-high 10 attempts from the free-throw line. Mathurin appears to be easing away from his minutes restriction, as he's now logged 30-plus minutes in two consecutive matchups after being held to 25 and 28 minutes in his first two games back from a thumb injury.
