Clowney (hip) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Grizzlies.
Analysis
With Ben Simmons (rest) and Clowney unavailable, the Nets will be shorthanded in the frontcourt, as Nic Claxton is available but remains on a minutes limit during the second half of a back-to-back set. Jalen Wilson and Ziaire Williams are candidates for increased roles versus Memphis. Clowney's MRI returned clean Monday morning, and his absence is merely precautionary, so he should have a chance to suit up Friday in Boston.

Analysis
This is a new issue for Clowney, and the Nets could err on the side of caution for the second leg of this back-to-back set. In seven regular-season appearances, Clowney has averaged 6.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.1 minutes.

Clowney recorded seven points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 15 minutes during Friday's 120-112 victory over the Bulls.
Analysis
Clowney has operated as one of Brooklyn's primary bench options in the frontcourt this season. However, with Ben Simmons expected to sit out the first leg of the team's back-to-back Sunday, Clowney could receive increased playing time.

Slides to bench Wednesday
Clowney will come off the bench Wednesday versus Memphis while Ben Simmons enters the starting lineup, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Analysis
Clowney has averaged 17.0 minutes across four appearances this season, and entering the starting lineup Tuesday versus Denver did not yield a bump beyond that average. That being said, the second-year Alabama product will look to capitalize on Nic Claxton's (hamstring) vacated role Wednesday.
