Suffers broken foot
Jackson broke his fifth metatarsal in his right foot earlier this week and will undergo surgery on Sep. 4.
Analysis
The Grizzlies had a rough time with injuries in the 2023-24 season, and the team is not catching a break even in the offseason. Jackson suffered the injury while playing basketball outside of Dallas on Aug. 27 and following an unstable landing on his right foot. The timetable for recovery has not been provided, but it wouldn't be shocking if Jackson is not fully recovered for the start of the regular season in late October.
